Fencing Styles

Close-Board Fencing

Often referred to as featheredge fencing, this is a durable style of fencing that can help improve garden security and privacy. It employs individual, tapered boards which are installed vertically, to create a solid fence that can also be used for boundary marking.

Lap Panel Fencing

Another solid fencing option popular amongst our clients in and around Crawley, lap panel boards have a raw and natural aesthetic. One side is waned and covered in bark, as the boards are cut straight from the tree. The other has a square edge, and boards are fitted with a slight overlap. An economical choice that can suit all sorts of approaches to landscape gardening, lap panel fencing can also be used to set out boundaries.

Picket Fencing

If you’re looking for something decorative, or simply to mark a boundary, consider picket (palisade) fencing. A great choice for a quaint, cute landscape gardening scheme, many of our clients use this form of fencing to provide a basic level of protection and containment, protecting children and pets from traffic. It’s also a great choice to mark off vegetables patches or herb gardens in larger spaces.

Decorative Fencing

This is a fairly broad category which includes popular styles like lattice and horizontal weave fencing. Some forms of decorative fencing also score high marks in privacy and security, while others are there purely to be eye-candy. They’re a way to make a statement with an essential feature: to get creative while ticking an important box, e.g setting a boundary.

At Slade Landscapes, we’re all about using quality materials whether we’re laying paving, installing driveways or erecting garden fencing. That’s why we only use pressure-treated fences of the upmost quality. This helps treat the wood, granting it a level of resistance to rot, decay and general wear and tear. It also gives us the confidence to give five year guarantees on all new fencing.
